OCTOBER 2003(1 John 3:16-18,NKJV): By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. This is the scripture that compels us. |
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ,
In August we provided school uniforms to 110 children, scholarships to 120, school books to 80, book bags, paper, pens and pencils to 70, and medical and emergency care to 4 people. Below are pictures of some of our children.

| | Above left are our children assembled to receive uniforms, book bags, paper, pencils and pens. Center is a group who received their gifts. To the right is one of the children wearing his uniform donated by L.O.V.E. The envelope contains his scholarship money. You can see L.O.V.E.'s logo on each. Each envelope also contains the scripture above. | | To the left are some of the over 700 text books we gave to the children.
To the right is Thai Thi Duyen Hai in her uniform. Hai lost both parents to AIDS. Her younger sister has HIV. They both live with an aging grandmother. Hai visits my home one or two times a week to get help with her English. Please pray for her and the other poor children. Pray for their school work. |
| | Pictured here are two of the many Christian families we are helping. To the left is the Le Thanh Tung family. Tung is blind and his wife Bay has one eye. The girls are Vien, Nhien, Anh, and Kim. On the right is Vo Duy Minh, his wife, Cuc, daughter Thanh, and sons: Thong, Thuong, and Thoi. | |
We are providing scholarships to 2 of Tung's girls. We provide Thoi with a scholarship and just provided a machine to Minh to make drinks out of sugar cane. They are homesteading on the beach where they live in a bamboo hut because they have no home. Minh's wife has growths in both breasts. I do not know the cost for an operation, but would guess it will be over $500 if the growths are not cancerous. Even if she got the money for an operation, she will not take off work to do it. PLEASE PRAY FOR THESE TWO FAMILIES AND OTHERS LIKE THEM. Promises in Giving, a reminder to us all (2 Cor 9:6-15 NKJV) But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. {7} So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. {8} And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. {9} As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." {10} Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, {11} while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. {12} For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, {13} while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men, {14} and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you. {15} Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
| To the left is Vo Van Vui. He is 22 years old but cannot work because he has 2 valves in his heart that need to be replaced. Up close you can see the yellow discoloration of his skin. Without an operation ($3000) he will die. With help from several organizations he has raised $1000. Please pray for him.
Eph 4:28 ...but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. |
Again "THANK YOU". Thanks to all of you who take the time to read our newsletter, those of you who pray, and to all of you who give. BLESS YOU ALL.
Blessings, Reggie, Chi, and Duc |
