And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?  My little children let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

The Challenge

The donations for June and July were $5605. This will be matched by our challenger for a total of $11, 210. This is far short of our goal of $20,000. Without sponsors for our student houses, this short-fall will challenge our faith. Please pray about helping in the next 5 months we need a minimum of $10,000

University Students

We now have 5 student homes. Totaling 40 students.

We need sponsors for our 5 student houses. At present we have several who are considering sponsorship, but no commitment at this time. LOVE can not carry this alone. We may have to close 2 of these houses. PLEASE HELP!

We are asking $75 a month to sponsor a house. The rent on the houses very from $35 - $50 a month which we expect to increase this fall. $6 - $10 for utilities. The remainder of the money will go into a reserve fund to be used for training and evangelist materials, outreach, training and evangelistic trips, and emergencies and medical needs.

For example, some of you helped and provided scholarships to 55 students to attend two summer camps to meet with other Christian students all over Vietnam to worship, share and learn together; in addition, two students went to Korea to an international gathering of Campus Ministries called CM2007.

The mother and two daughters above are one of many success stories. LOVE began helping this family in 1998. Thien An (middle) graduated in 2002 from the university and now has a good and stable job. Phuoc, on your right, is deaf. We continue to help her go to a school for the deaf. Now she attends a church in HCMC that has classes for the deaf. Their father deserted before Phuoc was born. Thien An has bought a small house for them and has nearly paid it off. Their pastor is Bui Trung Thanh of Thi Nghe Church.

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

We have many children who need sponsors.

For just $20 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter.

Dang Nhu Tai, with his mother was sponsored, but the sponsor refused to keep his promise to sponsor for one year. Please Sponsor Tai. In fact no donation was sent. LOVE carried Tai sponsorship hoping the sponsor would fulfill his contract.

Tai was born with his right leg attached to his left leg and with deformed fingers and toes. The father blamed the mother for his deformities and deserted them.

PLEASE SPONSOR TAI.

CCC International Conference in Korea

Loc and Chau are back from Korea just in time to attend the summer camp for Christian students here in Danang. There were over 22,000 at the conference in Korea.

Their report:

Thank God for His blessings on our trip to Korea and our being able to take part in CM 2007 Conference in Busan City. We had a wonderful time. The presence of the Holly Spirit, His moving among all of us, and His power, was felt very strongly. Although 22,000 people from 129 different countries, cultures and languages attended, the love of Jesus united hearts in one accord. Furthermore, Korean Christians have left a deep impression in our hearts because they love God so much and pray in the Holy Spirit and with His power. Prayer was a fire of revival in Korea 100 years ago.     

There were 45 Vietnamese people in this Conference. We had the chance to visit Vietnamese Churches in Korea. We prayed for the peoples in Vietnam with many tears and in the Holy Spirit. Our love and compassion for the people of Viet Nam has become much stronger. Our hope is that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Viet Nam will become the same as Korea. (Hab 3:19 NKJV)  The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, And He will make me walk on my high hills.

Three important things we learned from this scripture: we must be faster, stronger and higher so that we follow Jesus during our life. And then, God can use us to complete His will, that all believers will be united in Jesus name.

God is strong, faithful and is with us forever. Amen, may God bless you.

“Abstain, Pray” camp in Da Lat

Comments from a student:  Thank God, because of his provision for me; thank those who were touched and helped my trip financially. Actually, I thank God so much because of his great grace, his faithfulness and his immense endowment in my life. God promised that: “you will seek and meet me when you seek me by all your heart”. Amen! Thank God because of his faithfulness. I myself found him and he answered me. He answered me all the problems of my family, the bind in my family and my burden. My God! Thank you. Hallelujah, to my God.

I dream and believe that not only I but also all people who seek Him and pray to him will meet him and hear his voice.

 I desire to be a praying combatant for Jesus Christ.

“Dream God’s Dream” CCC camp at Ba Na Mountian, Danang

Comments from a student:The theme of this year is very different from those of many years before. During the summer camp students can study and know that God’s dream is nations all over the world can hear the Gospel and each Christian will lead a holy life. “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified”. (I Thessalonians 4:3). “And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness”. (Ephesians 4:24)

After this camp many of these students we helped went on a mission trip to a group of minority tribes.

We at LOVE wish to publically thank the 60 people from Hope Chapel in California who sponsored 60 children this past year. We hope you will not stop praying for them and their spiritual and financial needs. Especially pray they can continue with their education.

We hope people in more churches will respond to the needs of the children in Vietnam.

Her house was destroyed by the Typhoon last year. Her sponsor is building a new house. Cost is $2,000

Nguyen Gia Kinand and his brother live in Quang Ngai. Above is the house they live in. Their family is Christian. There are also many minority tribal children that are very poor and often persecuted that need help. These children receive scholarships twice a year. The cost is about $40 per child.
