Love Of Vietnam Expressed

by
 Helping the Poor & Needy

1 John 3:16-18 NKJV: By this, we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.

June 2020

The current situation...

...in Vietnam over the past month has gradually become stable. Most activities have returned to normal. All shops, restaurants, markets and other centers are also reopened and running again. Since May we have been able to go to the meeting places in the communes and wards to meet and give sponsorship to our sponsored children because government offices have opened and allowed crowds.

In the beginning of May, all of the students went back to school and actively studied to complete their academic program of the year. This year, our sponsored children will finish their final semester later than other years. It is expected that the students will finish this school year in the last weeks of July instead of May like previous years. Special Exams such as10th Grade Entrance Exam, High School Graduation Exam and University Entrance Exam will take place around the last days of July and early August.

Please send your best wishes for Exams to your sponsored children.

Some lines from you will surely be a great encouragement and strength for the students.

I hope you know how much your Extra Giving for Birthday Gifts means to children.

It made their hearts so happy that you thought of them.

Extra classes for all

9th grade students  G4kids’s sponsors decided to send an encouragement for their sponsored children who are in grade 9 to support their extra classes for the upcoming 10th  Grade Entrance Exam. This is a very practical and meaningful gift for students in this time.

To our supporters:  In the last three months, LOVE’s staff collected report cards and surveys from each child. From this, we have prepared annual updates for each child, which you should receive later this month or early August. We have also determined how many grade level sets of textbooks and the number and kind of school uniforms needed for distribution in August.

Also, in the next 3 months, we need to find new places for student houses. After the Covid-19 days, there was a student home suddenly taken back from the owner and we found that some of our houses also need better and more stable places. We are being so busy to find new houses for them. We prayed to be able to rent at good price and long-term accommodations. We hope to pay the rent for new houses within 6 months or 1 year. It will be safer and more stable for student houses if we can pay the rent for 6 months or 1 year in advance. We will also re-set up and put in new furniture. By this way, we can prepare a clean, godly and better environment for the poor students in the upcoming new school year. The re set- up for these student houses will hopefully be done from June to October. Please pray for more for us.

In addition, LOVE has made the decision to provide medical cabinets for mountainous areas of Quang Tri province starting June. We will support these poor areas with small medicine cabinets including basic medicines such as antipyretics, medicines to cure headaches, stomachaches, etc., and the simplest medical supplies to provide first aid to people around the areas. These are remote mountainous areas near the border between Vietnam and Laos and are so far from the center city. It takes people there 2 - 3 hours to come to the city to have basic medicine. The medical cabinets will be put at the Churches, which asked this support for the poor locals, and where there are people who know medicines and how to use them. Anyone needy in these areas can come and have medicine when they get sick.

We believe that one of the greatest needs in Vietnam is medical care and we hope to be able to help with it.

In this June, LOVE’s staff will go to those locations and deliver the medicine. Then every 3 months we would like to visit and provide more medicines for them. Currently we are doing this medical cabinet project just for 3 areas in Quang Tri. The cost needed for a medical cabinet in a month is $160. We are calling for your donations to be able to maintain and expand this program in the future.

(Please see photos to know more clearly about areas)

LOVE is very happy to announce the success of Food Support to nearly 100 cases including disabled people, elderly and some disadvantaged families in Hoa Cuong Nam.

Although the commune agencies work again and allow for large crowds, the number of people is still controlled and the time allowed to gather is not too long. Even so, we are still happy and satisfied to see the smiles and joy of the poor who receive these food supports.

During this gift distribution, we didn't have much time to take more pictures.  Below are some photos we took.

We thank you for your donations and prayers for this mission. God bless you!

Sponsors Needed

Right now, there is a needy child living in poverty who is waiting for a caring person like you. We have many children who need sponsors.

To see these children or to fill out an application go to our web site by clicking child. Without your help, many of these will not finish school. For just $30 a month you can see that the child you choose will break the cycle of poverty by getting a good education, better food, clothing, and shelter. For more information about these children or an application form, you can also contact Reggie.

Please pray that we can find sponsors for all our children and put your prayers to work by sharing the need with your church, Sunday School Class, civic club, etc.

 PLEASE HELP!

Share your love and faith

These children urgently need sponsors who will support a child for $30 a month or the whole family for $50 a month, and will pray for them, write and encourage them.

About me: My father is the breadwinner of the family and he works as a bricklayer. His cervical disc disease hinders him from working a lot. Besides that, he cannot do this work on rainy days either. Therefore, his income is low and unstable. My grandma works on rice fields, but she cannot work a lot. Currently, the family is facing many financial difficulties. The two brothers and sister are still small and unable to help. In addition, my brothers often get sick. One of my brothers had burns and had surgery. It is very hard for my family to cover all expenses and costs. I really hope to have a better study condition in order to have a bright future. Please help me!
