L.O.V.E.'s Note: Khai comes from an ethnic minority family living in a remote mountainous area, where access has been repeatedly damaged by storms and floods over the years. He is one of five children in a household of seven. With many young children to care for, his mother stays at home while his father works as a hired laborer and porter with unstable, low income. The family struggles to meet even basic needs. Despite these hardships, Khai and his sisters are excellent students, and he especially loves Mathematics. A HOPE scholarship could help ensure they continue their education without interruption.
