MY FAMILY: My family used to have five members, but sadly my father passed away from cancer a few months ago. Now there are only my mother, my two older brothers, and me. My mother is the main provider, taking on manual jobs such as house cleaning and working at food stalls. However, she suffers from severe stomach pain and a herniated disc, so her income is very low and unstable. Because of our difficult situation, my eldest brother had to quit school early to work in an instant noodle factory, but his income only covers his own needs and a small part of the household bills. The heavy burden of supporting the whole family and keeping my younger brother and me in school falls on my mother, and it is truly more than she can bear. |
